Today IMD sent out an invitation to their virtual campus visit on Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at 3pm (Lausanne time). Per the invitation, they will have the new Program Director answering questions and talking about the MBA program's future:
Ralf Boscheck, our new MBA Program Director, will be chatting live about his plans to evolve the program in 2014 to ensure that we continue to develop global leaders who are ready to make a difference in the world. He invites you to join him to discuss how the business fundamentals will ensure you gain the skills to know; how in-depth experiential projects will give you the confidence to act; and how personal development will help you develop the humility to lead.
Sounds like this event is worth attending if you're interested in IMD. Here's the link to the event registration on the IMD website:

Update: you can find my notes from this session here.
Thought it would be cool to post some pictures of Lausanne that Ashley and I took when we were over there for my assessment day. Still unbelievable that Lausanne will be our home soon!
This is the third of a four-post "series" where I will write about my experience during IMD's Assessment Day. Here is a link to the previous entries:

The impromptu presentation
When I was preparing for my assessment day, the impromptu presentation was by far the most difficult part to find any guidance or information on. I'll try to hash out my experience pretty thoroughly. Hopefully this will prove to be helpful for future candidates.
There are actually two parts to the impromptu presentation, the individual part and the group part.

The 1-on-1 interview
The 1-on-1 interview was my first "activity" during the Assessment Day. After a brief tour of the campus, we were taken to the building where we spent most of our day. Me and one other candidate had our 1-on-1 interviews while the others were taken to the "group" room to prepare their impromptu presentations.

Making our way to Switzerland
The big day was on Friday, April 5th. Ashley and I decided to fly out on Wednesday night, and arrive there on Thursday, the day before the interview. With our work schedules we couldn't afford to take the extra vacation day so we couldn't go any sooner. Arriving the day before wasn't so bad in the end, but I would recommend getting there two days before if you can. That way you can have more time to fight the jet lag, if that's an issue. You can also give yourself a little extra peace of mind in case there's a flight cancellation or unexpected delay.
Yesterday I received some AWESOME news - I got into IMD! I am over the moon excited, and to be honest it still hasn't completely sunk in. I figured it would be cool to write about the experience, after all it's going to be a life-changing journey!
Crazy to think, in 8 short months my wife and I will be packing up and moving to Switzerland!
